Best in practice

The Academy's goal and ambition is to comprehensively prepare training participants for independent osteopathic practice. That is why the teaching activity of the Academy is based on the Proprietary Akademia Osteopatii Program created by osteopath specialists.

According to its assumptions, practical classes are a harmonious complement to theoretical knowledge. In addition, the Academy opens its students the opportunity to confront theoretical knowledge with workshop skills during classes at the Clinic of the Academy of Osteopathy.

SEMINARS FROM EACH COURSE TAKE 3 DAYS AND ARE TAKEN ON WEEKENDS IN THE HOURS:
FR.: 13:00 – 20:00 / SAT: 09:00 – 20:00 / SUN: 09:00 – 15:00
ON FRIDAYS FROM 11:00 TO 13:00 REPEAT COURSES TAKEN BY GROUP ASSISTANTS.

WORLD STANDARDS

The Academy's educational program is based on standards commonly used in the largest osteopathic schools in the world and covers over 2,000. teaching hours implemented during the 4.5-year teaching cycle.

KNOWLEDGE BASED ON EXPERIENCE

During the training, participants acquire knowledge in the field of osteopathic medicine and improve their skills in practice. The Academy's program is implemented during three-day seminars. In addition, according to the osteopathic concept, practical classes integrating all subjects are held at the end of each academic year.

The strength and pride of our university are international lecturers and specialists in osteopaths – Academy Assistants. Their qualifications and experience are invaluable help and inspiration for future specialists in the field of osteopathy.

ABOUT THE ACADEMY

General semiology

General semiology

Also known as medical semiotics, i.e. the department of clinical medicine or symptomatology. The aim of the course is to study physical examination, taking into account the basic differential diagnosis of diseases whose symptoms can be found not only in the area of the musculoskeletal system. The classes are run by a recognized specialist, senior lecturer at the Medical University of Vienna and President of the Austrian Osteopathic Association, Dr. Diana Stöckl MD, MSc. DOWN.

ABOUT THE ACADEMY

Sectional Anatomy

TRAINING BY EXPERIENCE

Classes on section anatomy are held in close cooperation with specialists from the Plastinarium in Gubin. Students have the opportunity to independently prepare anatomical structures of the musculoskeletal, vascular or visceral system with a scalpel in a professional section room. Participants also have the opportunity to become familiar with plastination techniques. Classes are held at several sectional tables in small groups.

ABOUT THE ACADEMY

Clinic of the Academy of Osteopathy

WE CARE FOR GOOD PRACTICES

That is why we have created the Osteopathy Academy Clinic – a place where students improve their skills under the supervision of experienced osteopaths, and patients can take advantage of a free consultation. During classes at the Clinic, participants work with the patient in groups of several people. Each consultation is supervised by an osteopath expert who supports participants in their independent practice.

WHAT DOES A TRAINING PARTICIPANT GAIN?

  • improving workshop skills under the guidance of an expert
  • changing the way of thinking while working with a patient
  • confrontation of knowledge acquired during classes with real work in the office
  • ability to move away from schematic treatment, a comprehensive look at the problem
  • ability to conduct an effective patient interview and prepare an appropriate treatment methodology

Students who have completed the 2nd year of the Academy may take part in clinical practices. Apprenticeship dates are agreed during the academic year.

It is worth noting that the clinic's activities contribute to spreading patients' awareness of osteopathic medicine, and free visits provide greater access to osteopathic services
